Dogs and other pets

To protect the safety and well-being of all guests and staff, we would like to point out that, in accordance with the guidelines of the castle administration, all dogs must be kept on a leash at all times inside and outside the castle grounds.

This policy is to avoid potential conflicts between pets and to ensure the safety of all guests and staff, as well as peace and harmony in our historic castle environment.

We ask all dog owners to respect the leash requirement and to keep their four-legged friends under control at all times, especially when entering public areas such as gardens, paths and courtyards.

Violations of these provisions may result in reprimands, and in the event of repeated misconduct, we reserve the right to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests and staff.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Wheelchair, Assistant, Stroller

Lichtenstein Castle is a historic and listed building, equipped with a correspondingly ancient access system due to its age and original purpose. We make every effort to allow guests with walking disabilities access to the castle. Unfortunately, however, we cannot guarantee or offer accessibility in all parts.

From the car park at the castle tavern, a 350 m paved footpath leads to the castle grounds. The direct path is a bit steeper than the road (400 m). Guests who are dependent on a wheelchair or walker are asked to assess for themselves whether they can manage this route with the assistance of their own relatives.

Guests who are dependent on a wheelchair can of course use it in the castle courtyard. Unfortunately, the castle itself is not barrier-free. Access is via a wooden drawbridge and inside there is a spiral staircase as well as a few steps.

Guests who are dependent on a walking aid such as a walker, crutch or cane can of course use it during the castle tour, as long as the walking aid is rubberized and the floor or furniture is not damaged as a result. Long and pointed objects such as hiking poles or umbrellas are not permitted and must be placed in the entrance area of the castle.

Strollers and buggies are not allowed in the rooms of the castle.

Handicapped accessible toilets, as well as a changing room can be found at the castle tavern, at the parking lot.

Hygiene and distancing rules at Lichtenstein Castle

There is no obligation to wear a mask on the premises and during guided tours.

We keep the group size smaller for guided tours so that there is enough distance between our guests.

We provide disinfectants in the entrance area.
